PiXL Edge: Are you LORIC?

BY RUCHA 9V

PiXL Edge is a scheme where students aged 4-18 can learn to improve a variety of skills at a number of different levels. It is also helpful for those who would like to develop communication and/or leadership skills.

PiXL Edge has 5 core skills that you focus on:
·       Leadership
·       Organisation
·       Resilience
·       Initiative
·      Communication

At Alperton, PiXL Edge is primarily for year 8 and year 9 students. There are many activities to take part in online using their website to track your progress. Those who finish the champion level of PiXL Edge can then move on to earn the apprentice level. By moving up levels it shows your commitment to working on building your skills in your own time, displaying qualities of determination and aspiration.

Students have given very positive feedback towards PiXL Edge.

“It helped me improve my initiative skills as I had to create a poster about health. This included having to do my own independent research. It’s a really great way to experience new things outside of the classroom.” – Muzaina (9V)

For taking part you will also be awarded with many achievement points after Ms. White has approved your tasks. If you are new to PiXL Edge, simply go to the website (https://theedge.pixl.org.uk/) after getting a login from your form tutor or Ms. White. After you login you must attend the PiXL Edge club to get started. It is held every Friday after school at the lower site.
